Meet Us

Mike first came to MECC in 2007 as Interim Pastor before being called as Pastor in January 2009. Before serving at MECC, Mike served churches in George, Iowa, and Brookfield, Wisconsin.  Mike is originally from Minnesota, where he first worked as a public school teacher in Theatre and English.  Mike’s role is to shepherd the church into deeper love for God and neighbor through a ministry of preaching, teaching, leading, and caring.

Pastor Mike is a graduate of Bemidji State University (BS in English, Theatre - 1978) and Sioux Falls Seminary (M.Div -1990). He is ordained to Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Covenant Church.  With a deep heart for God’s work around the world, Mike has lead short term mission trips to Haiti, Mexico, Ukraine, and Romania.  In his free time Mike loves to spending time with his wife Sue, their five children and five grandchildren.  Photography and Theatre are two “hobbies” in which Pastor Mike seeks to proclaim God’s Good News in creative ways!
